Texas Poker
Texas Poker - Rules and How to Play
Texas poker is commonly called Texas hold’em. In the start of
there game there is a big blind and a small blind. The big blind
is 2 times the amount of the small blind (i.e. and for the rest
of the article if the small blind is 3 dollars the big blind would
be 6 dollars.) After the blinds are placed the cards are dealt one
at a time, clockwise starting at the small blind.
Then the betting begins with the player left of the big blind.
This is the only time that the betting starts there (after the flop
betting starts to the first player to the left of the dealer). As
a payer you can at this point do one of the following call, check
or fold. The betting can be bet and raised up to 3 times (i.e. the
bet is 6 raised to 12, re-raised to 18 and then re-raised to 24.
At that point there are no more raises).

Then you have the flop where the dealer places the top card on
the deck, face down on the table then turns the next 3 cards face
up on the table (these are community cards that all players can
play). Now there is another betting sequence but again the betting
now starts with the person to the immediate left of the dealer.
You then have the turn and you place the top card face down then
turn one up. Another betting sequence and last but not least there
is "the River." Again a card is burned and one card is turned
face up. The last betting sequence then starts. When the last player
calls the first player that bet turns his two hold cards face up.
The next player may do the same if his hand beats the first if not
he will muck his hand.
