PokerStars
In 2003, PokerStars was a little known poker site that made it to the big time with one of their entrants in the 2003 World Series of Poker Main Event. Chris Moneymaker did what they thought couldn’t be done and won the championship and $2.5 million dollars. He did this on only a $39 buy in satellite tournament. This was a true Cinderella story and many online gamblers began to flock to the site.
Then in 2004 Greg “Fossilman” Raymer defeated 2575 other players in the World Series of Poker Main Event to claim the 2004 championship and take home a cool 5 million bucks. If you haven’t guessed it already, he won his way playing a $160 satellite at PokerStars. In reality if it hadn’t been for these two figures beating all the odds and winning, PokerStars would be not nearly as big, but with big wins at the WSOP they became a force in the online poker world offering Texas Hold’em, Omaha Hi/Lo, Omaha Hi, Seven Card Stud and No Limit Omaha Hi/Lo games. They also have some great tournaments as well as head to head match ups in the ultra high stakes.
The site has become hugely popular by offering many chances to enter the WSOP Main Event thru various levels of satellites. The PokerStars website has really good graphics and is sure to run smooth on your machine which is essential to any online poker player.
Their poker room is represented by an all star crew including the likes of Greg “Fossilman” Raymer, Chris Moneymaker, Tom McEvoy, Isabelle "No Mercy" Mercier, Evelyn Ng, Erin Ness, John Gale and Wil Wheaton.

PokerStars is credited with the creation of micro-limit tables, going as low as $0.01/$0.02 both in Texas Hold’em, and Omaha Hi. This is great because it gives the low budgeted player a shot at playing for something. At these micro-limit tables they offer a no rake policy!
Other notes of interest include: the sit-and-go tournaments have 10 minute blinds, instead of 10 hands at most other sites. The players also get 1500 worth of chips instead of the 1000 chip norm. This gives you more play for the money and better odds for the experienced players. The Hold’em tournament tables seat 9 players, as well as the no-limit and pot-limit Hold'em and Omaha tables which make your odds better rather than having that one extra player. Fixed limit ring game tables do seat 10 players however.
In my opinion this is the one of the best poker rooms to play at as they offer you all that you could want with ultra high limits as well as micro-limits and all the fixed limit games one could possibly need. There are times that you will get to play with some real studs like Raymer and Moneymaker as well as they do play on this site often.
Cant wait to see you at the tables!!!
