Kathy Liebert
Name: Kathy Liebert
From: Tennessee
Favorite game: Tournament No Limit Hold’em
Kathy was born in Tennessee and grew up in Long Island, New York. She now lives in California and Vegas. Kathy didn’t start playing poker until 1991 in Colorado where she was a prop (for those of you that do not know what a prop player is it is someone that is paid by the house to start games and to keep dying games alive). In 1994 Kathy began playing tournament poker.
She is an every day contender in a game that has been previously dominated by men.
Kathy is a great tournament player and not just "for a woman." She made her real mark when she won the inaugural Party Poker Million and took home a million bucks. She is the first woman to ever take home a million bucks for winning a poker tournament. She did make a cash deal with the 2nd and the 3rd place finishers Berj Kacherian and Phil Hellmuth but the accomplishment remains the same.
She has one World Series of Poker bracelet that she won in the
2004 Limit Hold'em Shootout. All we can say is keep up the good
work.
