From a spectators point of view Gus is great to watch, and probably
the most aggressive player I have seen in years. From the statistical
stand point he appears to play the game like a poor amateur. One
that is just lucky at times, however, even though he bets at the
wrong times with nothing in his hand. He does know how every player
will react to any bet. It keeps all the other players off guard
and guessing what he has and most of the time they are not even
close.
Gus plays on the World Poker Tour and has won over 1.5 million dollars in
these events. Gus launched a poker site that is simple, clean and
easy to use and will allow you to fit four screens on your computer
screen at the same time (poker champs).
He was originally a professionally ranked backgammon player. Many
backgammon players have made the transition to poker and have done
well. Backgammon requires several of the same skills as poker, including
challenging decisions and calculating percentages. None have done
as well or in such a short time as well as he is the focus of the
entire table whenever he sits down. Hansen started his new poker
career in Santa Cruz, California and plays in many of the larger
buy-in events in the industry.
