While there's only two differences, the Pineapple Texas Holdem game is quite a bit different. We'll explain below to make sure your on the same page.
In a "normal" game of Texas Holdem, players start with two hole cards. In the Pineapple version of the game, each player receives three hole cards. This in turn changes the game in that we have now increased the probability of having better starting hands along with more "flop friendly" hands.
Just like a normal game of Texas Hold'em there's a betting round after you get your hole cards and then another after you've seen the flop. After the flop betting is complete, it's now time to discard one of your three hole cards.
Keep in mind that the average winning hands are going to be stronger in Crazy Pineapple Poker as your going to see more combinations on the flop than you would in a traditional game of Texas Hold'em. With that being said, you probably won't see as strong winning hands as you would in a game of Omaha as Omaha Poker has more combinations to make good hands.
Pineapple is a fun variation of poker because you'll see strong flops and are forced to make the key decision of which two hole cards to keep.
