The "Magician" Antonio Esfandiari has been seen on the World Poker Tour recently. He came from Iran which is ironic since owning cards there is illegal. He got his nickname after he saw a bartender do a magic tick the next day he went to a magic shop and started learning. He got so good that he would perform at the restaurant where he worked at the time. He would hand out business cards and soon was doing private parties. He did all this by the age of 19. By the way he didn’t just practice a little bit he practiced 12 hours a day every day.
He won the first poker tournament he ever entered, at the Garden City Club in San Jose, California. He's the youngest poker player ever to win a million dollars in a tournament as well as the youngest to win a televised World Poker Tour event.
He finished 5th at the World Series of Poker in the $2000 No Limit Hold’em event, 3rd at the World Poker Tour's Lucky Chances in 2002, 1st place at the Commerce Casino World Poker Tour event and the next day he came back to finish sixth at the World Poker Tour Invitational as his buddy and roommate Phil "Unabomber" Laak took 1st .
